In observance of Labor Day, students will be out of school September 7–9 and will return on Thursday, September 10.
Families are encouraged to take advantage of these non-instructional days when scheduling appointments, travel, or other commitments so students can be present and ready to learn when classes resume.
Enjoy a safe and restful holiday!

This Labor Day, Vidalia City Schools celebrates the people whose hard work, dedication, and commitment strengthen our schools and our community every day. Excellence is built through showing up, doing the work, serving others, and taking pride in what we do. Today, we honor the generations of workers who have helped build our communities, and we thank our VCS faculty, staff, families, and community partners who continue that legacy through their commitment to our students.
Hard work builds character.
Commitment builds excellence.
Together, we are Built Different. Built Elite.
Happy Labor Day from Vidalia City Schools!

🏹A Great Start to the School Year! 🏹
We are so thankful for an amazing start to the 2026-2027 school year! It has been exciting to see so many families using the new Vidalia City Schools website and app to stay connected with our schools.
At this time, we are working with Apptegy to resolve an issue affecting teacher-to-parent messaging. A syncing issue between PowerSchool and the app is preventing some guardians from accessing classroom communication. Our team is working closely with Apptegy to have this feature fully available as soon as possible.
If you need to contact your child's teacher or school while we complete these updates, please reach out by phone or email.

📲 Haven't downloaded the app yet? Download the Vidalia City School District app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store, then be sure to enable Notifications so you never miss important district and school updates.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to improve this new communication tool. We appreciate your partnership and look forward to sharing a fully connected experience with all of our families soon!

📲 Stay Connected with Your Child's Teacher
The Vidalia City Schools app is now our district's official communication platform for teacher and family communication.
Over the next few days, your child's teacher will send a "Welcome to Our Class" message through the app. Once you receive that message, you'll be able to send messages directly to your child's teacher, ask questions, and stay connected throughout the school year.
Be sure to enable notifications for the app so you never miss an important classroom update, school announcement, or district message.
We look forward to partnering with you for a great school year. Go Indians! 🏹
