Every hero has a superpower, and ours is making good choices! 🦸

Tuesday, our students and staff dressed as their favorite heroes for Red Ribbon Week! From superheroes and sports stars to first responders and everyday role models, Sally D. Meadows was full of heroes of all kinds!

This theme reminded us that heroes come in many forms, and we all have the power to make a difference by making good choices!

We kicked off Red Ribbon Week on Monday with a fun-filled parade and pep rally! Our students brought the energy as we marched around the block and rallied together to promote making good choices and living drug-free!

A huge thank you to our local firefighters, police officers, VHS Cheerleaders, and VHS SoundTribe for joining us and helping make our kickoff celebration so much fun!

We also want to give a special thank you to our guest speaker, Gerriell Craig, a Vidalia City Schools alumnus, for sharing an inspiring message with our students about the importance of making good choices!

And of course, congratulations to our 4th graders for bringing home this year’s Spirit Stick! 🏆

What a great way to kick off a week of school spirit, community support, and celebrating the importance of staying drug-free!

Dear Vidalia City Schools Families,

To provide an additional layer of safety for our students and staff, beginning Monday, October 19, Vidalia City Schools will implement the VisitU Kiosk system, powered by CENTEGIX, in all school front offices.

What You Need to Know:

  • Visitors: Bring a valid photo ID (driver’s license or state-issued ID preferred), check in and scan your ID at the kiosk, wear your visitor pass while on campus, and check out before leaving.

  • Tardy Students: Students arriving late will check in using the kiosk.

  • Early Checkouts: Parents and guardians will use the kiosk to sign students out.

These simple procedures help us maintain a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and continued partnership in keeping our schools safe. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Vidalia City Schools students will be out of school October 12–16 for Fall Break.

Teachers will hold conferences on Wednesday, October 14, and students will return on Monday, October 19.

Fall Break is a great opportunity to rest, relax, refuel, or enjoy a short family trip. As we work together to improve attendance across our district, we encourage families to plan travel during scheduled school breaks whenever possible so students do not miss valuable instructional time.

Enjoy your break! We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready to learn!

Great schools are built through collaboration, continuous growth, and a shared commitment to excellence. Our instructional coaches play an essential role in that work by partnering with teachers, strengthening instructional practices, providing meaningful resources and feedback, and encouraging innovation in every classroom.

Their work often takes place behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout our schools in the confidence of our teachers, the quality of instruction, and the success of our students.

We deeply value our instructional coaches and appreciate the expertise, encouragement, and unwavering support they provide each day. Thank you to our instructional coaches for investing in our educators and making an impact across Vidalia City Schools.
